A new crop of community volunteers were elected by the Alliance of Philippine Community Organisations Inc. (APCO) during its Annual General Meeting last 26 March.

Leading APCO for a two-year term are: President Pet Storey, Senior VP Larry Perez, Junior VP Charles Chan, Secretary Fe Hayward, Treasurer Edna Voros, Internal Auditor Richard Ford and Public Relations Officer Francis Balagtas. These office bearers are joined by Emma Braceros, Glorina Papaioannou, Rose Lay, Helen Rogaris, Linda Trinidad, Marissa Colins, Cora Bojarski and Ricky Mendoza.

The main Agenda of the AGM consisted of the approval of the previous AGM minutes, Annual Report of Accomplishment by the outgoing President Ruben Amores, Audited Annual Financial Report by Treasurer Edna Voros, Induction of New Members, Election of Directors and Office Bearers for March 2016- March 2018 and the Induction of New Officers. The reports were distributed to the members and copies maybe requested by the public.

In his report, Ruben Amores, who was the sole recipient of the NSW Premier’s medal for a Lifetime of Outstanding Multicultural Community Service in 2015, mentioned that even if APCO is only six years from its formation, it can proudly claim as the best Fil-Aust community organisation in terms of the accomplishment of many social and community development projects, positive impact to the community, effective engagement and collaboration with the multicultural and mainstream communities and its management integrity and transparency.  

Founding president Dr Cen Amores, named Most Outstanding Community Leader on a Voluntary Capacity for Greater Western Sydney in 2013, thanked the outgoing officers led by President Ruben Amores, Snr VP Cora Perez, Jr VP Glorina Papaioannou, Secretary Pet Storey, Treasurer Edna Voros, Auditor Josephine delos Reyes, PRO Richard Ford and Directors Linda Trinidad, Emma Braceros, Rose Lay, Cora Paras, Zeny Piosik and Amor Ramos.
