AUDITION SCHEDULE:
Sydney Preliminary Auditions: Monday 20 October – Thursday 23 October 2014. Melbourne Preliminary Auditions: Friday 24 October – Sunday 26 October 2014.
Final auditions with members of the New York creative team will take place in November.
CAST BREAKDOWN:
Marcos:
Filipino, 20s-30s. Intensely charismatic, masculine politician. Seductive. Sexy. Johnny Cash meets Conrad Birdie in Manila.
Vocal requirements: High baritone
Aquino (Ninoy):
Filipino, 20s-30s. Rebel leader with righteous principles.
Vocal requirements: Seeking a singer with strong R&B/Gospel voice. High baritone.
The DJ:
20s-30s. Filipino. GUITARIST. Should be very confident singing lead vocals while playing/accompanying himself on guitar. A charismatic figure. At times he is a story--teller to the audience, at other times DJ/MC. Calling out instructions during songs. Good at counting beats while leading a group (counting people in and out of sections of songs). An authentically honest and open spirit.
Vocal requirements: Baritone or Tenor.
Male and Female Ensemble including Onstage Swings:
5 men and 8 women, some of whom have solo featured moments throughout the show, and some of whom have understudy plots.
Roles include: Estrella (female), Dovie/God Draws Straight (female), Aquino’s Mother, TV Reporter (female), Soloist/Interviewer (female), and God Draws Straight (male).
All should be strong singers and good movers. All Swings are on stage and perform the entire show.

Please include: city of audition and any restrictions across audition dates. Deadline for suggestions: open until audition.
For your audition you will need to prepare a choice of two contemporary and contrasting pop/rock songs. You must bring sheet music (in the correct key), as a pianist will accompany you. You cannot perform to track.
If you are male and play the guitar, we welcome you to have the instrument accompany one or both of your songs.
