The Australian Government has taken the bold step to shut down businesses with the exception of those that provide essential services. It has come up with financial packages to extend assistance to those impacted by this decision, to the extent of going into big deficit. In return, all it asks is for the community to help flatten the curve : STAY AT HOME!
Here in NSW, the government has passed a legislation setting hefty fines and even jail term for those caught flaunting social distancing protocols and putting the community's health and safety at great risk. On the positive, there are encouraging posts in social media regarding successful WFH [Work From Home] endeavours by many ie holding online: music lessons, exercise programs, cooking demos, video conferencing, fundraising or even just entertaining concerts.
The Radio Tagumpay team, inspired by the above and wishing to continue providing the Fil-Aus community information, inspiring stories and music, is endeavouring to broadcast without having to travel to Triple H 100.1FM studio at Waitara.
Criz Guce
With the use of technology, the RT team members - Criz Guce, Andrew Russell and yours truly - trialled the BFH [Broadcast From Home] approach, where we went on air from our respective homes in Sydney and Andrew in Canberra on Monday, 30th March. We also had Josephine Montemayor joining us from Manila and Fr Elmer Ibarra from the Northern Territory. Save from minor glitches, the radio show went okay with the help and technical expertise of Andrew. So we will strive to undertake BFH during our battle with COVID-19. We hope you can keep us company on Mondays, 2-4pm by tuning in on Triple H 100.1FM or by livestreaming via https://www.triplehfm.com.au/
We are also glad to share that on Monday, March 23, Radio Tagumpay has started speaking with Fil-Aussies entrepreneurs to share about the direct impact of COVID-19 on their businesses. This is aimed at providing valuable information to the community and providing some help to the businesses. Anyone who wants to be scheduled for this series of telephone chats can send a message thru Radio Tagumpay's FB page. We would also love to hear from anyone who just want to request a song or do a shout out. :)
We are battling a savage and invisible enemy. If we do our little bit to do the right things and care for each other, we can get through this crisis. Down the track, we need to be strong as we rebuild our lives and nation. In the meantime, keep safe and well.
