Sydney Entertainment Centre is playing host this Friday to an event that will showcase the basketball skills of young Filipino-Australians, men and women, while raising funds for families affected by typhoon Washi.

Two men's and two women's teams will play in the 6pm pre-game curtain raiser ahead of the 7pm main game between the Sydney Kings and the Perth Wildcats on Friday, 20 January.

Called the Filipino Basketball Night, the Sydney Kings is lending aid to the Philippines by donating one-third of all ticket proceeds sold to the community.

Events and hip-hop entertainment group Hoop Dreamz, the Philippine Community Council of Australia (PCC) and other sponsors are behind the community initiative.

Tickets cost $15 and must be purchased through Hoop Dreamz via Marco Selorio on [email protected] or on 042007753.
