The Australian Filipino Association of the Central Coast (AFACC) has once again raised funds for Rural Aid.  Through its major fundraising initiative Pista Sa Bayan Ms Charity Queen event, this year it has donated $10,000 to Rural Aid helps with victims of natural calamities such as draught, bushfire, flooding, etc. after two years that it was postponed.   At the Pista sa Bayan and crowning of the charity pageant held on the 18th June at the Central Coast Leagues Club, the donation was presented on stage to Hon Adam Crouch, MP.

There was about 280 people who attended the event.  The special guests included Mr. Adam Crouch MP, Dr. Gordon Reid MP, Ms Emma McBride MP, Mr. Doug Eaton former Mayor of Wyong Shire, Ms Ruby Eaton President of China Australia Friendship Association, Rural Aid representative Ms Rebecca Bazley,

The winners of the charity pageant were as follows:

Dolly de Guzman, 2nd Runner Up

Mary Jane Thompson, 3rd Runner Up

The success of the event was made possible by the involvement of so many people – the emcee who kept the proceeding happening smoothly was former AFACC President Hazel Coulson; the dancers and choreographers; singers Jojo Sebastian, Trinity Young and Pandora Moran; sound tech team; stage and decoration team; usherettes; ticketing team and to 2021-2022 AFACC Officers and Board of Directors.

With over 280 people in attendance, it was my pleasure to have been a guest at last night’s event.  The event raised $10,000 for Rural Aid to help farmers affected by recent floods and bushfires.
