A group of dedicated and like-minded people now celebrating 15 years of serving the community is proud to formally launch its new name Philippine Australian Multicultural Association Inc. (PAMAI).
After successfully completing the necessary formality change, PAMAI is all set to continue its mission and vision with greater fervour, shedding its former name of APCO.

PAMAI is launching this significant change on its much-awaited yearly event, Pista Sa Nayon 2025 which this year commemorates the 127th declaration of the Philippine Independence
from Spanish colonial rule on June 12, 1899.  The event will be held at Parramatta Town Hall, 182 Church Street in Parramatta, on Saturday 14th June 2025, from 10am to 4pm.  Entry is free.

The theme for Pista Sa Nayon 2025 is Nagkakaisa sa Pagdiriwang ng Kalayaan at Kasaysayan (United in the Celebration of Freedom and History).  Aside from the recollection and the tribute to the important historical event, there will be cultural performances and entertainment numbers provided by our local Fil-Aus singers and dances; traditional Filipino games for the kids; competitions such as best Filipiniana attire, singing and tiktok dancing; and delicious Filipino dishes from food stalls.

Under the leadership of the group's President, Charles Chan  Pista sa Nayon 2024 was an enjoyable and meaningful celebration.  The special guests in the event were led by none other than then Philippine Ambassador to Australia, Her Excellency Maria Hellen B Dela Vega who was appointed early this year as Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs; Consul General  Rowena Charmaine Aviquivil; Representative of the Prime Minister, Dr Hugh McDermott, MP; Vice Consul Frances Cleofas; Cultural Officer Ms Nova de Lara, Member for Granville Julia Finn; Member for Auburn Linda Voltz, and the Mayor of Fairfield, Mr Frank Carbone.  Pista sa Nayon 2025 no doubt will be as equally successful under the leadership of PAMAI new President, Ronna Guzman.

Like a typical Filipino fiesta, it will be a whole day of festivities, celebrating our history and culture, community unity and enjoyment of Filipino food.  The venue, Parramatta Town Hall which is of great heritage significance, is just a short walk from the Parramatta train station.

This will also be an opportunity for members of the community to meet our Consulate officials headed by Consul General Charmaine Aviquivil, as well as local and State government officials.
