Rose ‘Osang’ Fostanes, winner of the inaugural season of X-Factor Israel, was wildly cheered at the concert held on May 25 at The Thornbury Theatre in Melbourne.

The other artists in the show were also winners of television music reality shows - the popular Sydney-based entertainer Lillian de los Reyes, winner of Tim Webster’s “You’re a Star”  and Melbourne’s own Jerson Trinidad who was the winner of Bert Newton’s “New Faces”, both shows were conducted by Channel 10.

From feedback shared with us, the highlight of the concert and brought the house down was the duet of the two divas doing “Simply the Best” which was popularised by Tina Turner.

The concert received good comments from all who attended it. These included great comments by Melbourne’s Radio 3ZZZ 92.3 FM, which is the largest ethnic community station in Australia.

"It was great to have a warm and appreciative audience. Beautiful venue and sound. I enjoyed seeing the guests dancing and applauding," said Osang.

Asked what it was like to perform 'Simply the best' with Miss Lillian, she said, "I'm happy and proud to be performing with a pro like Lillian. She's a great entertainer."

Sydney's own star is just as complimentary about the X-Factor winner: "It was great to perform with Osang who has the natural talent for music. Wala siyang ego or ere [She's very down-to-earth]. I look forward to the concert we're doing this time in Sydney on Sunday."

Among the guests in the Melbourne show was the Honourable Consul General Raul Hernandez who extended his congratulations to Osang and everyone involved. "The concert was great and Osang's story was inspirational."

The fundraising concert in Australia is Osang's first performance outside of Israel and Philippines. It is organised by the Filipino Community Cooperative Ltd with the co-op's chair Kate Andres as producer.

Part of the proceeds will go towards the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda through Sydney-based volunteer group Help After Haiyan and its charity partner, World Vision Australia.
