The URBANSTAR National Talent Quest is back. The search is on for the best and hottest unsigned artists, singers, MCs, vocal groups, acoustic duos, beat boxers and dance choreographers in Sydney. The Sydney finals will be held on Friday June 22 at the Burwood RSL Dome.
Thirty-four URBANSTAR finalists will go head-to-head and perform one routine each. They will be judged based on musicality, stage presence, audience impact and technique. Some local Filipino-Australian contestants that made the final cut are Caylene Gutierrez (Sylvania), Arjae Dela Cruz (Quakers Hill), Blessie Pica (Wollongong), Tina Ranoso-Bangel’s One Voice group and twelve-year old Issei Guarin (Glenwood). All five are in contention to win URBANSTAR.
The judging panel includes vocal coach Veronica Monro, Ryan Hall from SASS Management, SBS PopAsia host Ania Aquino and Universal Music record executive Georgie Koch.
The winner will receive a gold trophy, cash, a recording studio session, Nesian Street clothing, hair style vouchers from Fadez Barbershop, a music writing session with producers Banton Brothers and an optional management contract deal.
The URBANSTAR Sydney show will be held on Friday June 22, 2012 at BURWOOD RSL 96 Shaftesbury Road, Burwood. General admission is $20 at the door.
