Young Fil-Aus artist Zaebriel Orayenza has come a long way since she sang on a pretend microphone at the age of two. From being involved in musical plays at school and starring in her birthday concert, the thirteen-year old from Sydney’s western suburb of Plumpton, stole many hearts in her portrayal of Tamika in School of Rock staged in South Korea from April 2019 - September 2019 and in Sydney from October 2020 - February 2021.

The restrictions due to the pandemic resulted in the subsequent staging of School of Rock in Adelaide and in cities in Asia to be cancelled. This did not deter her from pursuing her passion for singing. She rocked on online singing competitions in 2021, winning Homegrown Australia and was a State Finalist for Take the Mic.

Also last year, Zaebriel was one of the main cast of the musical Fantasia Disney Showstoppers staged at the Richmond School of Arts. The good news is that she will also be playing the lead character in Disney Moana Jr Musical by Fantasia Showstoppers to be shown during April 7 – 10, 2022 at the same venue.

“I like playing Moana because I feel she is generous and matching my personality, and she is also passionate about singing.”

Zaebriel is also thrilled that in Moana, her nine-year-old brother, Zaevar is performing with her.  Zaevar is enjoying being in the ensemble.
