Jojo Sebastian is indeed unstoppable. As featured in a previous The Australian Filipina article, he has been busy with many events and receiving awards despite the pandemic challenges.
He recently visited New York City during 9 – 14 February, 2022 to do photoshoots and struts his charm in two fashion shows. He was invited to be part of the Trinity Dawson Dreamtime Collection fashion shows. The first fashion show was on Feb 11 in Gotham Hall New York Prestige Production and followed on February 12 Edison Hall New York Hitechmoda Production.
He and the other Trinity Dawson models were featured in neon billboards in no less than NYC’s iconic strip in Times Square. See video of the billboards below.
Jojo enthused: “It’s a very surreal experience for me to say the least. To walk in a fashion show had always been special for me and to think that I had the opportunity to walk at one of the most prestigious stages on the fashion world. It was indeed a dream come true. I am grateful for the invitation extended by the designer for me to represent her brand.”
At the same time that Jojo was overseas, he was announced to be the “Man of the Future” awardee by the International Film & Entertainment Festival Australia 2021. His award was accepted on his behalf by his long- time partner John Lee Cundangan and Marian Bugarin, a friend at the presentation held in NSW Parliament House on February 16.
He said: “this was an unexpected award. Thank you so much to the International Film & Entertainment Festival Australia (IFEFA) for this prestigious award. This award will serve to me as a reminder to always to be with and be for the community in the best of my ability. For me, its significance lies within what one can bring forth to the community continually and I hope to do this award justice.”
While we are speaking about the IFEFA awards, we would also like to congratulate Jasmine Henry whose original composition “Playing with Fire” was a quarter-finalist. The music video of the song won the Best Cinematography Award.

Back to Jojo Sebastian... he is first and foremost a dedicated and awarded frontliner who is a nurse unit manager. He has received awards as a performer, community event host and beauty pageant host, and titles such as Mr Diamond International 2021, Aberdeen Fashion Media Awards - TV Presenter of the Year and Pageant King of the Year; Gawad America - Global Man; and Laguna Excellence International Leaders Awardee; and Ganap World Achiever Awardee.
