The lockdowns cannot keep this energetic Zumba teacher down!!   Jeanette Ang known as ZIN/DJ  Janet (ZIN FOR Zumba International Network) (DJ - Disc Jockey) is not deterred by the lockdown from holding Zumba classes.   When the health rules required people to stay home, she started on July 11 to hold free online Zumba classes through her Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/jeanette.ang.39794.    The classes are held on Wednesday and Saturday at 4-5pm.

"I got inspired to hold Zumba classes to help my community, family, friends, and workmates to help them keep fit, healthy and have a strong immune system which they really needs to fight COVID 19 .

"My job was affected by the lockdowns and most people would be the same as me.  During this pandemic situation, people suffer from stress and depressions.  Doing some exercise like Zumba can help to reduce these type of mental problems not only for them but also FOR ME .

"The best part is when I am seeing each participant's motivation and when they start  encouraging their friends and family to join our Class."

Before the lockdown was brought in, ZIN/DJ was holding Zumba classes for the Filipino Sports And Recreation Club (FILSPARC) members being held in the Blacktown Showground Park from September 2020.  Then the COVID restrictions were tightened, the number per class was reduced to 10 people.

She also does volunteer teaching Zumba for Kids at PCYC Blacktown during school holidays, as well conducts volunteer Zumba for Juvenile for Kids (Girls Only) in Lidcombe.

Another admirable initiative that ZIN/DJ uses her Zumba skills for is her own charity she named Zumba for Betrayed Animals. Instead of charging the participants a fee, she asked them to bring cat and dog food as donation for animal rescue.  She then donated the goods to the Blacktown Animal Holding Facility.  She has undertaken this for three years before she stopped because of COVID.

ZIN/DJ conducts regular Zumba classes at the PCYC Blacktown on Mondays and Tuesdays at 6.45pm.
